Hikers & cyclists
For pairs who want room to explore at their own pace and a shared alert if the gap becomes too large.
Paired proximity alerts
Poym helps hikers and cyclists know when they have drifted too far apart. Both people get the alert, without needing a phone, cellular service, or a Global Positioning System (GPS) connection.
Prototype in active development
Built for the places where bars disappear.
Independent by design
No phone
Nothing to carry, check, or unlock
No cellular
Designed for beyond-the-grid use
No GPS
Measures the space between the pair
Each person carries a small paired device. Once underway, the pair works without relying on a phone.
Poym uses Bluetooth Channel Sounding to measure the changing distance between the devices.
If the pair moves beyond the selected separation, both devices alert so neither person is left guessing.
For pairs who want room to explore at their own pace and a shared alert if the gap becomes too large.
The same distance-aware foundation is being explored for group coordination, guided experiences, and rescue operations.
Concept direction / not yet availableThe distance layer
Poym is built around Bluetooth Channel Sounding: radio technology designed to measure distance directly instead of treating signal strength as distance. We are testing the hardware across real trail geometry, body blockage, and changing orientation before publishing final performance specifications.
